The Old Dead Tree Announce New EP London Sessions — A Powerful Return via Season of Mist

After years of silence and struggle, French dark-prog/metal legends The Old Dead Tree are back — and hungry. Their new EP London Sessions has just been announced via Season of Mist, and it’s streaming now ahead of the official release this past Friday, November 28, 2025.

Recorded inside the legendary Abbey Road Studios, the four-track EP pairs two brand-new compositions with re-imagined versions of past songs — a symbolic bridge between old scars and fresh starts. “Feel Alive Again” and “Time Has Come” showcase a matured band: melancholic, atmospheric, emotionally raw, but also precise and powerful.

For longtime fans, this return feels deeply earned. The Old Dead Tree — formed in 1997 in Paris — weathered tragedies, line-up changes and long silences but always carried a signature blend of doom-soaked riffs, gothic atmosphere and melancholic songwriting. Albums like "The Nameless Disease", "The Perpetual Motion" and "The Water Fields" carved their place in European dark-metal history.

With "London Sessions" — recorded with producer/engineer François-Maxime Boutault and mastered to perfection by Tony LindgrenThe Old Dead Tree prove they’re not just resurrecting a name. They’re evolving it. Expect contrasts: fragile introspection and crushing heaviness; ethereal melodies and brutal catharsis. For those who believed the tree had died, this EP is proof there’s still rotten wood ready to burn strong.

We at Pulse Records are already lining up their back catalogue — and we’re ready to bring "London Sessions" into our distro as soon as release day hits. If you dig music that bleeds sorrow and beauty in equal measure — this one’s for you. Pre-save, pre-order, and stay close: The Old Dead Tree rise again. 🔥
