About Us

Pulse Records is an independent Lisbon-based record store and music blog dedicated to the entire spectrum of underground and heavy music. From raw Black Metal demos to savage Death Metal slabs, from cult Thrash reissues to timeless Heavy Metal classics, and all the weird corners in between — we live and breathe physical formats and the culture that surrounds them.

Founded by Leopoldo Lopes, a Lisbon based lifelong metalheads, Pulse Records began as a small tape-trading obsession and evolved into a global hub for collectors who crave authenticity, limited pressings, and honest, in-depth reviews. What started in a cramped Lisbon room overflowing with vinyl quickly grew into a digital outpost where fans worldwide can discover new releases, revisit classics, and order rare formats directly from us.

What We Do

  • Online Store: Curated stock of vinyl, CDs, tapes, 7"s, 10"s, and fanzines — all shipped worldwide.
  • Reviews & Features: Passionate blog posts covering underground and mainstream metal with detailed sound, production, and packaging insight.
  • Community: We run weekly Facebook posts, share discoveries, highlight fan favorites, and keep the flame of underground culture alive.

Our Values

No corporate voice. No sugarcoating. No trend-chasing.

Just honest metal enthusiasm, physical media dedication, and a commitment to supporting artists, labels, and scenes that deserve far more recognition than they get.

Why Physical Formats?

Because music is more than digital files. It’s artwork, layout, liner notes, weight, texture — the ritual of dropping a needle or flipping a cassette. We celebrate that connection and do everything we can to keep physical culture alive.
