Mawiza - Silver Cord Studio Live Session Released | Pulse Records News

Chilean indigenous metal force Mawiza close out 2025 with a powerful new release: a full live session recorded at Silver Cord Studio, the creative home of Joe Duplantier of Gojira. Following the success of their award-winning album "ÜL", this performance showcases the spirit, resistance, and ancestral fire that have positioned the band as one of the most vital and meaningful voices in modern metal.

Introduced with ceremonial Mapuche chants, this studio session erupts with the thunderous weight of "Wingkawnoam", the towering pulse of "Mamüll Reke", and the mournful depth of "Ti Inan Paw-Pawkan". The band also deliver a rousing tribute to Gojira through a fierce cover of "Amazonia", captured with the rawness and emotional weight that defines Mawiza.

Speaking about the experience, frontman Awka describes their journey to New York as a moment of deep cultural connection — arriving with almost nothing except their newen (inner force), trusting that the music would find its path. Welcomed with generosity by Joe Duplantier, the band were gifted instruments, space, and energy, allowing their identity to shine through in a foreign yet spiritually resonant land. Their time at Silver Cord became a powerful encounter between ancient Mapuche memory, metal energy, and the pulse of distant territory.

"ÜL" continues to gather international attention, and soon both the CD and vinyl editions will be available at Pulse Records. Mawiza’s rise shows no signs of slowing — and this Silver Cord Studio session is further proof of their unstoppable creative and cultural force.
